NELFUND, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, has recently announced the commencement of student loan applications for 36 state-owned tertiary institutions. The institutions include 48 state universities, 49 polytechnics, and 54 colleges of education. This move aims to provide financial assistance to students in pursuing their higher education.

With over 100 institutions originally missing out, the list published by NELFUND highlights the 36 state-owned institutions that have successfully submitted complete student data for the loan scheme. This ensures that deserving students have the opportunity to access the funds they need for their education.

Notably, NELFUND has approved 26 state schools to benefit from the student loan scheme, emphasizing the importance of financial support for students across Nigeria. Students from these institutions can now register and apply for the student loan program, further expanding access to education.

In a bid to streamline the process, NELFUND has commenced the registration process for students from the eligible institutions. This initiative aims to make the application process efficient and accessible for students seeking financial aid for their studies.
