The total solar eclipse failed to bring about the end times. I was banking on the solar eclipse ushering in the end times and saving me from the unbearable horrors of a presidential election year. Alas, it seems we are all still here, facing the reality of politics and daily life. The sky darkened, the moon covered the sun, but the world did not come to an end. Perhaps we will have to endure the election drama after all. But hey, at least we got to witness a cosmic spectacle! Just a day in the life of Earthlings waiting for the apocalypse, I suppose. As the eclipse passed, the sun returned, and life went on, leaving us to ponder the mysteries of the universe and our fleeting existence.
