Makinde polled 196 at Idi Ose, Ona Ara Local Government Area to defeat Folarin at his polling unit. Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party also polled 60 to defeat Adelabu of Accord Party, who scored 38 at polling unit 10, Ward 9 in the Ibadan South East Local Government area of the state.

Four votes were voided. Nine votes were voided. He polled 174 votes while the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 28, Accord Party scored 5, and Labour Party scored 3 votes.
Mr Folarin had been the major rival of the incumbent governor, Mr Makinde, since the beginning of the electioneering.

Adelabu scored 38 and Teslim Folarin with 22 votes. Makinde had voted at Ward 11, Unit 01, Abayomi Iwo-Road in Ibadan North East Local Council where PDP got 174 votes, the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 28, and Accord Party scored five, Labour Party scored three votes. Seyi Makinde has won at the polling unit of the governorship candidate of the Accord Party, Adebayo Adelabu, as well as, at the unit of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Teslim Folarin.
Mr Makinde said he was impressed with the voters' turnout while denying the unfounded claims about the volatile security situation in the state.
