Motherwell vs Rangers - LIVE updates (Scottish Daily Record)

It's the final league card before the international break and both sides will want to go into that Premiership pause on the back of picking up three points.

It's another rapid start to a half - this time from the visitors as they take the lead. If Fashion Sakala had been given the hook at the break there could have been few compalints but Michael Beale's faith pays off in sticking with him. Sakala crossed and after a couple of efforts were saved, the former Norwich man fired high into the net. And the home side have restored parity. Really poor from Antonio Colak who is put clean through but the Croat gets it all wrong as he shoots wide. And Colak was culpable and he's obviously been guilty at the other end, particularly with that awful miss. It's another for the Light Blues and that should surely be that with 20 minutes left. The ball is planted right on his head but he gets it all wrong and sends his effort off target. Can Hibs do the Ibrox side a favour later? Slattery was shown a second yellow card by referee Nick Walsh on the 75th minute of the defeat at Fir Park after he appeared to strike Gers midfielder Todd Cantwell on the face with his arm. Alfredo Morelos looks like a man with a point to prove and if he could keep that level then he'd be well worth a contract. There's no doubt it was a flat first half from Rangers but they have been much-improved in the second half.

We simulated Motherwell vs Rangers to get a score prediction as ... (Glasgow Live)

Rangers must continue picking up wins and hope Celtic drop points as they face a trip to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

FIFA 23 predicts that Rangers could ease their way past Motherwell, winning 2-0 in the simulation. Cutting in from the right, Cantwell breezed through the Steelmen's midfield before playing a one-two with Ryan Kent and bursting down the left. Rangers are yet to beat Celtic this season, with the Light Blues currently trailing the Hoops by nine points in the league, despite winning their last eight league games in a row. After an early scare that saw Motherwell hit the post after 73 seconds, Rangers took control, with Malik Tillman and Todd Cantwell both causing havoc around the host's box. The Light Blues have not lost at Fir Park for 20 years but Stuart Kettlewell has made an impressive start as Motherwell boss.

Nico Raskin hopes to recover from a quad issue but fellow Rangers midfielder Malik Tillman has returned to training after a knock and is available. Sign up to our daily sport newsletter Shane Blaney is pushing for a return while Mikael Mandron returned to training on Tuesday following a thigh injury and illness. Joe Efford is two or three weeks further behind in his comeback from a torn thigh while Josh Morris remains out and Jake Carroll and Nathan McGinley are long-term absentees. However, Stuart Kettlewell has made a major impact since replacing Stevie Hammell, initially on an interim basis/ Of the 12 points available to Kettlewell he has taken ten of them - and he'll be looking to continue his impressive record alive when the Glasgow side visit Fir Park. New York Rangers and the Stanley Cup Playoff picture (Bluelinestation.com)

After their stirring win over the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden, the New York Rangers are firmly ensconced in third place in the Metropolitan ...

The good news is the Rangers appear to be gelling at the right time. They barely got past a Pittsburgh team that lost Sidney Crosby and their top two goalies. They have gone 14-4-4 against the top 10 teams in the NHL and that includes three losses to the Boston Bruins. The experience that they gained in last year’s playoffs will be invaluable. It’s a fact that to even get to the Eastern Conference Finals, the Blueshirts will have to get past either Carolina, New Jersey, or Pittsburgh, all daunting foes. That elusive team chemistry appears to be coming together with the lines gelling. They followed that by needing extra time to beat Montreal and Buffalo and went four straight games without holding a lead in regulation. Their record against the teams currently in the postseason as of today is 18-10-6. In his seven games since he has improved to a .916 Sv% and 2.38 GAA. The team with the only realistic hope of catching the Rangers is the Penguins. How have they fared against teams currently in the playoff picture? They still have an outside shot at catching the New Jersey Devils or Carolina Hurricanes, but in the “loser point” NHL, it won’t be easy.
