Oh helps leaders Celtic finally quell 10-man Hibs (BBC Sport)

Substitute Oh Hyeon-gyu made a dramatic impact as Celtic finally overcame 10-man Hibernian to avoid a shock Scottish Premiership slip-up.

Sead Haksabanovic (Celtic) right footed shot from outside the box to the bottom right corner. - Home6 - Fouls - Away0 - Shots We tried to play as well but had to defend for our lives. They got their rewards." Hibs' momentum has been stalled after running into both halves of the Old Firm. And it nudges them closer to a second successive title, which will effectively be guaranteed with six more wins from the remaining nine games. They were increasingly annoyed by Hibs' attempts to slow the game and only in spells did Ange Postecoglou's men find their usual fluency. The French forward's first yellow, for clattering Carl Starfelt, was clear cut. "He'll take a lot from that and hopefully kick on.

"Circumstances led to it being a really difficult game for us, and I'm really disappointed with the sending off decision if I'm honest. I thought in the second half we held that a lot better, and kept our focus on what's important to us, our football." "It was a fairly chaotic game with a lot going on, on and off the field. Today wasn't just how the opposition played, there were a lot of stoppages, VAR interventions, a lot of reasons for the game not to flow. Marshall was inches away from keeping out Jota's low effort but he and Hibs put their disappointment behind them to continue to hold Celtic for most of the rest of the second half. Hibs' attacks were few and far between, but CJ Egan-Riley did half-volley over a nice move from the edge of the Celtic area.

Celtic vs Hibs - LIVE updates (Scottish Daily Record)

HALF-TIME! Celtic 0 Hibernian 1. Ten man Hibs go into the break with the lead courtesy a Josh Campbell penalty. A huge second half to come!

Hyun-Gyu Oh has his head in his hands as the ball brushes off his head and goes over the bar. The home fans are getting restless. You can see Celtic's intensity has risen since the restart. Alexandro Bernabei has been at the heart of the action since replacing Greg Taylor. It's been a relentless season for the Hoops, who have dropped four points all year. But you wouldn't put it past Postecoglou's relentless attack, with Kyogo perhaps having a point to prove after a snub by Japan. Johnson's side have already shipped 10 goals to Celtic this season, and six on their last visit. Celtic 3 Hibernian 1: Instant reaction to the burning issues (HeraldScotland)

Starfelt clearly pulled the shirt of Hanlon as his rival centre half was attempting to get to the ball inside his area. But Postecoglou had no qualms about starting the defender in his usual berth this afternoon. It was his third goal in 10 appearances and he was a deserved recipient of the Man of the Match award. However, his reactions are every bit as quick as they were when he was starting out as a professional in the East End of Glasgow. They had had nothing to show for their efforts when the final whistle blew. His brilliance allowed the visitors to take the lead six minutes before half-time when Campbell converted from the spot. He could do nothing about the Oh and Haksabanovic efforts. Celtic fans should have been asking what Starfelt was doing rather than the match official. But their former goalkeeper Marshall was up for the encounter with his old club and then some. He denied Furuhashi and Jota with brilliant reaction saves early on and kept the scoreline level. He did well to outmuscle Campbell and bury a diving header when the scoreline was 1-1 late on. It was asking a lot of them to avoid a second straight loss today.

On a personal note thanks to my cousin (Jimmy Gribben was my auntie’s da) for supplying some match reports and newspaper cuttings about Jimmy. Celtic won 1-0 but Jimmy and his fellow forwards were referred to in match reports as ‘clever players’. Even now a little known figure, Jimmy was instrumental in bringing Jock to Celtic when we needed a short term fix to our centre half problem. The question is asked “If there is to be a Coronation Cup the year, would Celtic deserve to be one of Scotland’s representatives?” The team lost to Rangers in the Scottish Cup on Saturday, and are in the middle of a bad run of form. Is a reminder of Bill Daly’s contribution to ‘The Celtic Foundation’.

Celtic boss gives latest injury update on Reo Hatate (The Celtic Bhoys)

Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou, has given an injury update on Reo Hatate, after the Japanese midfielder was forced off the pitch.

Hatate is a very important part of this team and his absence was one of the big reasons why Celtic struggled to build up any sort of rhythm against Hibernian. It was a big result for Celtic to say the least. For a long while, it had looked like the game was headed for a draw.

“A 6ft 3in player is ducking into the ball to make himself 5ft, so it’s definitely not a booking, it’s just a foul either way. Celtic got a penalty which Jota took, his feeble effort did beat David Marshall which was probably the best we can say about it. A madcap 3-1 win for Ange Postecoglou's men over their Leith visitors wasn't necessarily as warped as it appeared on first viewing.

It was to his credit that Johnson refused to be one-eyed in his assessment of the penalties for each side across the afternoon. In this narrow definition, a case could be made for McLean’s brandishing of a yellow. Ahead of the weekend, they were only one of two teams - 11th-placed Ross County the other - that hadn’t been awarded one in their own patch.
