Brad Cunningham offers up a betting prediction and previews Sunday's Premier League matchup between Newcastle and Wolves.

They love to build out from the back and have the second-most touches in the Premier League in the defensive third of the pitch. Newcastle should be able to get another clean sheet against one of the worst offenses in the Premier League. Newcastle is sixth in the Premier League in PPDA and fifth in high turnovers, but they’re the most effective team in the Premier League at converting those high turnovers into penalty box entries. Defensively, Newcastle is one of the best teams in the Premier League, especially at home. The Magpies are only allowing 0.93 npxG per 90 minutes and have allowed just 10.2 expected goals in 12 matches at St. Newcastle has lost three straight matches and subsequently dropped out of the top four.

Newcastle United seeks a win that can save its shrinking Premier League top four hopes when it hosts Wolves at St. James' Park on Sunday.

He’s played in 23 of Man City’s 24 games, scoring 26 goals. And even though Haaland is currently overperforming his expected goals total, it’s clear that projecting him for the Premier League record is rather realistic. Below is the full schedule, as you can watch all 380 games across our NBC platforms. Who will be the surprise package? Will Manchester City win three in a row to make it five titles in the last six seasons under Pep Guardiola? Rodri continues to control midfield, while a special shout out must go to Nathan Ake who has slotted in very well at left back. It’s tough to see where their next win is going to come from but that usually means Palace will beat one of the big boys. Both players blocked a shot and combined for more than a dozen clearances. Patrick Vieira’s Palace are currently on a 10-match winless run, the longest current one in the Premier League. QUESTIONABLE: Boubacar Traore (hip), Hee-chan Hwang (thigh). Wolves have been led this season by midfielder Ruben Neves, goalkeeper Jose Sa, and center back Max Kilman, the only three players to start more than 20 PL matches for the side. The Magpies are on a 315-minute goalless stretch across all competitions.

Newcastle United vs Wolves Preview: Probable Lineups, Prediction ... (The Hard Tackle)

Newcastle United will be desperate to return to winning ways and get their top-four bid back on track in the game vs Wolves on Sunday.

They need their strikers to start putting them away to stay in the hunt for a top-four spot. Five of the last seven games between Newcastle United and Wolves have finished all square. The visitors will make life difficult for Newcastle, but the Hard Tackle are still going for a home win, which should give them good momentum heading into the final phase of the campaign. There should also be a change at the back, with Fabian Schar coming back into the side for club captain Jamaal Lascelles to partner Sven Botman in front of goalkeeper Nick Pope. Wolves’ defence is a tough nut to crack under Julen Lopetegui, who has brought in increased defensive stability since taking over after the World Cup. Boubacar Traore and Hwang Hee-chan are also expected to miss out for the visitors. And even though they have some matches in hand on the clubs immediately above them, it is not a stretch to say they are hanging by a thread in a European spot, as they are just two points clear of Fulham and three points ahead of Brighton. Wilson appears to be a shell of the player who powered them to third place before the World Cup and may need some rest with a similarly leggy Miguel Almiron. A back-fit Matt Targett should also come into the starting XI to replace Dan Burn, who has struggled to provide any width in recent weeks. Ahead of their latest meeting, The Hard Tackle takes a closer look at both teams. Newcastle’s impressive first half of the season, in which they only lost once, has kept them in the Champions League conversation. The Magpies are itching to taste victory again after failing to do so since the second leg of the League Cup semi-finals.

Newcastle United seeks a win that can save its shrinking Premier League top four hopes when it hosts Wolves at St. James' Park on Sunday.

(AE) What a move this would be for a Chelsea team already loaded with attackers, just the latest sign that no one besides (probably) Kai Havertz and Mason Mount are safe in their status with Thomas Tuchel’s Blues. This time around, Lukaku scored 15 goals in 44 appearances (all competitions – 8 in 26 in the Premier League), bringing his Chelsea career total to 15 goals. His quality is clear for all to see and he would slot in well to the 3-4-2-1 system and is very comfortable on the ball and coming out of the back to start attacks. It is reported (below) that Chelsea will pay the Norwegian side $12.7 million for Fofana. The focus at Chelsea will likely now be on selling players and they will have to move on a lot of fringe players to offset this huge spending spree. This asks more questions of Mohamed Salah, who is entering the final year of his deal at Anfield (NM). (JPW) QUESTIONABLE: Fabian Schar (facial). Joe Gomez might not be a first- (or second-) choice center back for Liverpool anymore, with Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip both out-appearing him last season, but the 25-year-old is keen to continue his seven-year stay an Anfield. QUESTIONABLE: Boubacar Traore (hip), Hee-chan Hwang (thigh). They haven’t been shy about splashing the cash on players needed in key areas of the pitch in the past (Virgil van Dijk and Alisson prove that) and Fernandez slots into that category as Liverpool’s midfield needs strengthening and his signing would allow them to be pretty settled for the next four to five years.

Moutinho and Neves will work with Mario Lemina in the midfield. The Wolves only had two wins and four draws in 13 games played in their travels, so they will be extra motivated to overcome their dismal away record. Back the hosts to dominate against the visitors. Wolverhampton is in 13th place in the Premier League, three points of relegation occupants West Ham United, Leeds United, and Southampton. In any case, Raul Jimenez, Matheus Nunes, and Pablo Sarabia are primed to spearhead the attack. Ruben Neves appeared to be the best man for the Wolves for securing the lead just 38 minutes into the ball game. Fabian Schar is doubtful to appear in this game, but it seems like he will hurdle through his discomfort as he joins Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, and Dan Burn in the backline. The Magpies are now in a five-game winless run. After spending time in relegation, Wolverhampton Wanderers have climbed up to 13th place in the Premier League table. They have just played 24 games in the Prem, but the Magpies boast themselves as the best defensive squad in England, conceding just 17 goals so far. The Magpies will surely be motivated to get a win in their second match this March. NEWCASTLE XI TO FACE WOLVES: Pope, Trippier, Botman, Schar, Burn, S Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes, Willoc Murphy, Saint-Maximin, Isak.

One of the reasons for the mini slump is the lack of goals - Newcastle have only scored three goals in the top flight this year. Clearly that is no crisis for a club that had grown used to relegation battles and dissatisfaction. A month ago Newcastle were firmly in the top four, excited about a their trip to Wembley and a possible first domestic trophy since 1955, and all was good in the world. "Two big games (against Wolves and Nottingham Forest) because of where they are situated," Howe said. They are without a win in the Premier League since mid-January, lost at Wembley to Manchester United and now find themselves down in sixth. Eddie Howe has made as many as five changes to the side that lost 2-0 to Man City last weekend.

Traore netted a fine winner after coming off the bench against Spurs and is duly rewarded with a start today with kick off just minutes away. An early scare for Wolves as Jose Sa collides with Craig Dawson and drops a cross but he manages to jump on the loose ball in time. A couple of dangerous crosses are cleared away and then Wolves deal with the corner after the hosts go short - much to the frustration of the home crowd. Newcastle are really pressing high up and getting in the faces of the Wolves defenders, with a couple of misplaced passes and clearances already forced. A great switch of the play from Schar and Guimaraes is brought down on the edge of the area by Lemina yards outside the box. They then break up the other end and Traore plays a lovely ball in behind Burn but the big Newcastle defender recovers and clears the ball off Semedo and out for a goal kick.

Newcastle United seeks a win that can save its shrinking Premier League top four hopes when it hosts Wolves at St. James' Park on Sunday.

Can the Gunners make it five wins in a row in the Premier League? Fulham have made two changes with Tosin coming in for Diop and Bobby Decordova-Reid in for Willian as the Brazilian winger misses out totally. The home fans celebrate the VAR decision arriving on the screen like it is a goal for Fulham. Fulham’s still alive in the FA Cup and has that route into Europe as well. Gabriel Jesus comes on and there is a huge roar from the Arsenal fans in the away end. Leandro Trossard with a lovely clipped cross to the back post and Martinelli heads home. Gabriel Martinelli has a shot from the left which Bernd Leno saves but it bounces off Antonee Robinson and goes in. That is going to be crucial in the final months of the season as they aim to win the title. Bit of possession for Fulham now as Manor Solomon bends one wide of the far post. Jesus will of course start a large chunk of the final 11 games of the campaign but Arsenal now have a very different option to roll out whenever they want. Fulham have missed Joao Palhinha badly in midfield and just don’t look at it. Fulham hit the bar.

Minute-by-minute report: Join Rob Smyth for updates as Newcastle look to boost their top-four hopes.

Isak made a brilliant run down the inside-left channel, moved into the area and slid a low cross that took a couple of ricochets and led to a rare old scramble. Is this a topic for the Knowledge?” 57 min Podence tricks Guimaraes on the edge of the D and is fouled, giving Wolves a decent opportunity. 30 min Jimenez shapes a curler from 25 yards that is pushed away by Pope, falling to his left. We’ve just seen the foul (sic) by Jimenez on Schar that led to Isak’s goal, and there’s a decent case that he won the ball fairly. It’s a not dissimilar position to the goal, maybe five yards closer. Trippier deliberately swings a corner beyond the far post. The goal came from a debatable free-kick, while Nick Pope might have conceded a penalty (and been sent off) after being robbed by Raul Jimenez in the area. 74 min Although the manner of the goal was unfortunate, Newcastle have been punished for sitting on a one-goal lead. I don’t think Burn’s was as bad as Casemiro – the point of contact was lower. It was a comfortable enough save in the end. This is a huge goal for Newcastle, celebrated wildly by the scorer.

We had seen this movie before, of course, and visiting boss Juan Lopetegui would have been peering through his fingertips as Almiron dropped a shoulder, cut onto his left boot and steered beyond Jose Sa for his 11th of the season. In finding a ruthless streak, the head coach caused his top scorer to rediscover his own. There was VAR controversy before that, however, as Nick Pope was reprieved of a potential penalty and red card after a collision with Raul Jimenez in the first half. Almiron wears a permanent smile and would need a mask to look menacing. It also saw them get a crucial decision that many people, including Wolves manager Julen Lopetegul, felt should have gone the other way. Sloppy Newcastle gets win over Wolves as super sub Almiron ... (Premier League News, Video, Scores | NBC Sports' ProSoccerTalk)

Alexander Isak put the Magpies ahead before halftime, but the hosts should've had more goals well before Hee-chan Hwang feasted on Newcastle errors late in the ...

Kieran Trippier slips trying to make a desperate clear and maybe Pope’s a little slow to react to a loose ball in the box, but either way it’s 1-1 and the South Korean striker is happy to collect the spoils of dogged work. 37th minute: It’s been all Newcastle since the goal as Isak is running the show and Newcastle is having a lot of fun on the left side. HALFTIME: Newcastle’s up a goal and has taken 13 of the game’s 15 shots, but Wolves will be left to wonder what could’ve been if Pope was sent off. Wolves have been led this season by midfielder Ruben Neves, goalkeeper Jose Sa, and center back Max Kilman, the only three players to start more than 20 PL matches for the side. 23rd minute: Wolves feel they should have a penalty as Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope takes a bad touch in the box and ends up in a mini-confrontation with Raul Jimenez. It’s not more than they deserve on the whole, but Wolves will still be point back at Pope and a possible penalty. Joe Willock could’ve had it 2-0 and Allan Saint-Maximin goes on a mazy dribble in the box that leads to a super-overcooked Trippier corner. The ball-sharing continues, to be polite, but Newcastle strikes first off a delightful bit of free kick service from Kieran Trippier as Alexander Isak pounds a header inside the far post. Ultimately, Newcastle backstop Nick Pope does well to keep a wayward Wolves shot in play so the Magpies can reset with the ball. Now the Magpies have a free kick from inside the arc. That’s to say this wouldn’t have been a smash-and-grab had Miguel Almiron not arrived on the scene. On another day, his slippery eel move off a late short corner has this one 3-1, but center back Sven Botman did center backs no favors by blazing over the bar in stoppage time.
