President Buhari has spent eight years in power and will be handing over to a new government on May 29, 2023. Officers of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been spotted at Tinubu's polling unit. Voting has continued across Nigeria where the electorate will be electing a new president and their representatives at the National Assembly. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress have won his polling unit at the 2023 presidential elections. It was earlier reported that there was a delay of INEC officials in reaching the polling unit.

Tinubu, Peter Obi, and Atiku are vying to succeed President Muhammad Buhari, whose tenure comes to an end on Monday, May 29.

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, also cast his vote at his polling unit, Polling Unit 012, Ajiya Ward, in the Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State. While the presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Obi, also cast his vote at Amantutu polling unit 019, Ward 2, of tin Agulu, Anoacha local government area of Anambra state. The three front-runners of the 2023 presidential election, Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Peter Obi of the Labor Party, and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (APC), have all cast their ballots at their respective polling places.

The electoral body further moved the presidential and National Assembly polls to April 9 and then to April 16; while the governorship and state Houses of Assembly election were shifted from April 23 to April 26. Voting has also started in polling unit 019 of Agulu in Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra State where one of the presidential candidates is expected to vote. Accreditation and voting have also commenced at Iregun ward 3, Unit 3 in Iperu, the voting area of the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun. Accreditation and voting have commenced in some polling units in parts of Nigeria as the 87.2 million voters with Permanent Voter Cards go to the polls to elect a new president and members of the country’s National Assembly.
