The Brentford Lifeline Society continue their support to the club funding the purchase of the life saving equipment for our women's teams.
We were made aware that there was no such provision within the Women’s team to assist should any of the squad or staff involved on a match or training day suffer a cardiac arrest. As mentioned in its title the society is a lifeline to the football club and honours the company by funding projects that are outside of pre-arranged budgets. The Lifeline Society which is funded by Brentford fans has for several years provided financial support towards cardiac assistance.
We speak with Gemma Teale, co-founder of the LGBeeTs, a fan group for Brentford's LGBTQIA+ community.
Gemma received many messages of support from other fan groups, high-profile fans and the club. But the most important messages were from Brentford’s LGBTQIA+ fans, who felt seen. I didn’t feel confident standing up and saying ‘here I am’ and exposing myself to whatever criticism or backlash might come Through this football community, she was encouraged to start an LGBTQIA+ Bees supporters group. They aim “for all fans to be able to support and follow Brentford FC home and away safely, without fear, and without hearing homophobic, biphobic or transphobic abuse.” She became a season ticket holder in 2001.
