It's a jam-packed day of Premier League action after two weeks away, and we have plenty of live action coming up for you throughout the day. To find out what he needs to do to keep the Toffees in the top-flight, take a look at the story below. Sean Dyche was confirmed as the new Everton man with the club facing a battle to stay in the Premier League earlier this week. There was a big bit of news coming out of the Emirates too this week, as Gabriel Martinelli put pen to paper on a new deal at the club. The big one was Jorginho, after his £12million cross-town switch to Arsenal from Chelsea, and the Italian could make his bow for his new side, and hope to shift the curse of Chelsea signings flopping at the Emirates.

Arsenal travel to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Premier League as Mikel Arteta returns to his former club.

[asked Arteta in his pre-Everton press conference ](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/news/mikel-arteta-arsenal-transfer-injury-26147933)about the failed pursuits. However, [Arsenal ](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/)were unsuccessful in signing either with Chelsea swooping for the Ukrainian winger and Brighton refusing to let go of Caicedo. [club's official website](https://www.arsenal.com/men/players), Arsenal now have 24 senior players and the majority are in contention to face Sean Dyche's side. They're having a very good time at the moment but they've known long enough, at my previous club that they'll realise but I usually put out a team that are ready. "You've got to play everyone, the way the fixture falls is just one of those things. This means it is crucial that Arteta gets his team selection right, but luckily football.london's Arsenal writers are on hand to help out. [pre-match press conference](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/news/mikel-arteta-arsenal-transfer-injury-26147933) on Friday morning, Arteta insisted it was a question for Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke. Arsenal have won 16 of their first 19 league outings, remaining unbeaten since September 4 when they fell 3-1 to Manchester United at Old Trafford. The deal was worth £10million in guaranteed fees with a further £2million in add-ons, football.london understands. Arsenal will hope to have Thomas Partey available but Mikel Arteta has said he is a doubt. Sean Dyche has now replaced Frank Lampard and the Toffees will need to play Arsenal twice still this season after their clash at the Emirates Stadium remains in need of being rescheduled. Mikel Arteta might have strong feelings for his former side but whilst he'll hope they avoid relegation he needs his Gunners side to do the business today.

Find out who Mikel Arteta and Sean Dyche have selected for this afternoon's game at Goodison Park.

On each of the four occasions we have conceded first, it's taken us on average just 17 minutes to find an equaliser. However, after losing each of his first nine, he's lost just one of his last five against us. They've lost each of their last four home league games – only once before have they ever suffered more consecutive defeats on home soil. Copyright 2023 The Arsenal Football Club plc. "They’re having a very good time of it at the moment, but I think they’ve known us long enough from my previous club. Lampard was dismissed following a disastrous first half of the campaign, with only Southampton's inferior goal difference keeping them from being rock bottom of the division. Hopefully after tomorrow, he will be a great fit for Everton. What Sean and the coaching staff did at Burnley speaks for itself. Martin Odegaard has netted in each of his last three games on the road, with Olivier Giroud our last player to score in four in a row (September-November 2015). But then came the crash that cost Lampard his job. “I like the character a lot, the presence and the clarity he brings to his team. With the limited resources they had, they got incredible results very consistently in this very tough league.

Sean Dyche steps back in time with nod to a very different Everton era (The Guardian)

Sean Dyche's sheer energy galvanises Everton with echoes of club's history evident during their victory over league leaders Arsenal.

At the end, as Goodison erupted, there was a brisk handshake with Arteta and a couple of members of his staff, a brief acknowledgement of the crowd in a few sharp claps and then he was down the tunnel. In the eighties, particularly during their Cup-Winners’ Cup success in 1985, Everton had been a pioneer of a five-man midfield and Dyche, ripping up the 4-4-2 blueprint of his Burnley days, paid homage to that. There had been demonstrations outside before kick-off and early in the game a plane flew over dragging a banner that proclaimed Everton “the league’s worst-run club”. Dyche had spoken of wanting to recapture the spirit of the eighties, which is reasonable enough if only as an appeal to the traditions of the club. Most of the time, particularly after half-time, Dyche was bellowing at his defence to push up, with expansive wafts of his right arm. Vast sums have been spent very badly and again the board stayed away for its own safety, but just because there are a lot of things to put right it does not mean that you shouldn’t correct the things you can.
