One way to put that right: we've got a game on Saturday, and we'll try to win that. A couple of flashes here and there but we didn't deserve to take anything out the game, which is the most disappointing thing. The boy's playing very well. "I think it's clear what I want.

Hearts' run ends in chastening defeat by Rangers (BBC Sport)

Rangers shatter Hearts' 10-match unbeaten run with a rampant Scottish Premiership victory at Tynecastle.

He was far from the only culprit in maroon. They have scarcely delivered a more complete performance under the Englishman. The visitors had efforts from Morelos and Fashion Sakala ruled out for offside either side of the opener, but deservedly doubled their advantage when a short corner was played back to Borna Borisic. It was 2-0 going on five or six by the break.

Hearts 0 Rangers 3: Michael Beale's side turn on the style in fine win (HeraldScotland)

RANGERS eased to victory over Hearts as Tynecastle as Michael Beale recorded a tenth victory as manager to end the Jambos' impressive recent run…

This was another 90 minutes that showed the respective levels, however, as Neilson’s side were well beaten for the second time by Rangers this term. This one had all the ingredients you would want for a live fixture as Rangers visited Tynecastle. This was a reminder of just how difficult that challenge will be and there is some way to go before that becomes a reality. His praise for Neilson – who he tipped to be in the running to replace Steve Clark as The next check didn’t take as long but Rangers were on the wrong end of it once again. It was an accolade the American internationalist more than merited for a fine showing and Rangers were well on their way at that stage. The VAR calls aside, there was a plethora of chances as Hearts were overrun in midfield and found themselves second best throughout. The technology was needed just minutes after the restart as Alex Cochrane challenged Kent in the area. When the lead was doubled, it became a case of mission impossible. Once he gathered himself, a quick free-kick caught Hearts sleeping and Ryan Kent was free down the left, an area that Rangers exploited time after time. On a night where they could have struggled, and perhaps even stumbled, it was the clearest sign yet of what Beale is trying to build during his second stint at Ibrox. This was a tough test in its own right, though, and it was one that Rangers passed impressively.

We give the Rangers players a mark out of ten and rate their performance during the match against Hearts at Tynecastle.

His searing pace and movement was just too much for James Hill, forcing him to be replaced at the interval as he was in danger of being sent off. Was replaced by Antonio Colak with 15 minutes to go with a hat-trick very much on the cards. Ryan Kent: Stood the ball up perfectly for the opening goal and gave the Hearts defence an uncomfortable first half with his movement. John Lundstram: Quickly stamped his authority on the midfield battle with his aggressive nature, spooking his Hearts opponents. Survived a late handball claim, probably the most worrying moment of the night for him. Was denied his 50th penalty for the club by VAR’s intervention.

Hearts 0-3 Rangers: Alfredo Morelos and Malik Tillman strike for the ... (Daily Mail)

STEPHEN MCGOWAN: Hearts have plenty credit in the bank and rightly so. Out on their own as the third force in the land they entered this game on a 10-game ...

Forrest struck the outside of the upright in a start to the second half which proved a false dawn. A trademark Morelos knee-slide in front of the home fans went down as well as you might expect. After a lengthy review in the control room he was urged to take a look at the pitchside monitor. When Morelos sidefooted into the net from close range 10 minutes later an ironic chant of ‘it’s a conspiracy’ went up from the away support. Hopes of a foothold in the game provd short-lived. They looked like a team utterly drained of belief in the first half. When the Englishman released Morelos to flash a thumping strike wide of the post a ripple of apprehension passed round Tynecastle. At the fourth time of asking they were finally granted one for Morelos after a VAR review. A night which started badly for the home team went downhill fast. On nights like this the gap between second and third feels more like a chasm. Out on their own as the third force in the land they entered this game on a 10-game unbeaten run with a spring in their step. They had a notion this might be the night their woeful recent record against

Hearts vs Rangers (NNN)

Hearts vs Rangers Michael Beale is still unbeaten as Rangers boss and Robbie Neilson's men didn't even come close to ending that under the lights in Gorgie.

In the first 15 minutes of the first half we had chances to go and score more. It started with the forwards and the rest of the team backed them up and it was nice to see Alfredo score a couple more goals. They’re riding high here, in really good form, and we spoke before the game about how we had to be at our best. On both occasions, Morelos his trademark knee slide with a fingers on lips directed to peeved home supporters. But when the opportunity came to play we never connected with our passes, our passes were going back the way, making mistakes we probably haven’t made previously. So we changed to a four and it helped us get a bit of stability. Ryan Kent thought he’d won a penalty three minutes after the break, but I thought we were fantastic. It was a really strong performance, particularly the first half. The attacking was probably the poorest part of it. There are two sides to that, I thought Rangers played very well, pressed well, they were aggressive. I just think we didn’t get anywhere near the level we’ve been getting to.

So it's a good place for us to be in." When we are winning and winning away from home in front of a rival who are a place behind us in the table, they were unbeaten for 10 games, it was a big performance. "That's two away at Kilmarnock and two away at Hearts. I think he will regret that more than maybe Alfredo celebrating." I am over the moon with Alfredo at the minute. I think he could probably have a few more goals if I'm honest and that has probably driven him. "If we are going to say players can't celebrate goals now, we might as well stop the game," said Michael Beale. It's the hardest thing in football to do. "I think a lot is made about these things in Scotland. "When we score our first and second goal we are two yards from their fans. "I think he [Neil] will regret that more than maybe Alfredo celebrating. When McCann's comments were put to him, Rangers manager Beale said: "I wouldn't agree with that.

Connor Goldson's handball incident for Rangers against Hearts has been tipped to be a starting point for referees getting calls inside the penalty box ...

"A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. "But I don't think it can be given as a handball. The ridiculous thing is that weeks ago there would have been more of a chance of it being given. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised". IFAB rules state: "It is a handball offence if a player: "Deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball or touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. It maybe brushes past it.

6 Hearts vs Rangers VAR calls from Kent penalty claim to Goldson handball It was a convincing 3-0 win for the visitors as they ended a 10-game unbeaten run ...

“A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. The linesman flagged it offside, and VAR backed the call up. Stewart insisted those in the VAR room had got it right. However, Sakala was adjudged to have gone too early by the linesman and celebrations were curtailed. It’s the linesman that thought it was a penalty and VAR eventually gets it right.” Sakala was in again – but was denied by VAR for a second time. It was them Sakala’s turn to find the net – and see if ruled out. The Colombian enjoyed an impressive night in the capital – but in truth it could have been much better had he held his run to net the opening goal. Ryan Kent also was awarded a penalty in the box while Hearts man Alex Cochrane protested his innocence – and VAR would clear the Jambos’ defender of any wrongdoing. Michael Stewart insisted it was an obvious call for the two officials to make: “I know this is quite clearly not a penalty kick. John Beaton performed a U-turn on his spot kick award when Ryan Kent went down in the box with the replay showing there was no contact with Alex Cochrane.
