Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episode 8

Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episode 8 brings Naksu and the real Jin Bu-yeon face to face while Jin Mu is ready to launch his plans.

Jin Mu tells her that she will have to retrieve the plaque from this place to prove her divine powers. Those scenes of Naksu finally finding out she was and Jang Uk finding out who she is really got me screaming and I cannot wait for what is to come. Right then the crown prince arrives and reveals that he is witness to this statement as broadening the barrier of the firebird did put them all in danger. Jang Uk soon rushes to Chwiseonru and tells Naksu that he had been searching for her everywhere, however, he soon realises that something is wrong. He then reveals that his real target is the firebird inside Jinyowon and will soon gain control over it with the help of the Unanimous Assembly. However, she sees him standing in her room when she returns and has to face his questions that show his despair caused by her decision. She remembers the words spoken by Jang Uk as a rush of memories appears which makes her realise her true identity and then makes her go to Danhyanggok. Finally remembering her identity as Naksu, she now has to face the brutal truth of the limited time that she has left in this world. While she may have been unable to confess her feeling to him, she will always love that man and cannot be with Jang Uk. He requests her to let Bu-yeon free for as long as possible because soon Naksu’s soul will disappear and the real Jin Bu-yeon will take over her body. Meanwhile, while washing the medicine out of her eyes, Bu-yeon sees her reflection in the water and sees the blue mark inside her eyes. Elsewhere, Heo Yoon-ok finds the medicine that can reveal the marks of a soul shifter and is ready to bring Bu-yeon face to face-with her truth.

Despite wanting to remain with Jang-uk, Bu-yeon is afraid of what these real memories might entail. Yun-ok just so happens to be listening in as Yul assures her ...

Bu-yeon tells Jang-uk that she saw exactly who she is and what happened to her when she returned to the palace. Bu-assignment, yeon’s however, is risky because it requires her to throw the plaque into Gwisu and then return it in a day. Bu-yeon stands up and declares that she is deserving, willing to pit her supernatural prowess against his best. Naturally, Jang-uk intervenes at the crucial moment to save Bu-yeon from the wraiths. Jin-mu questions their strength as Bu-yeon, Cho-Yeon, and the other mages arrive along with the black turtle as they continue to speak. Although Lee points out that this is forbidden magic—similar to the alchemy of souls—it would essentially allow Jang-uk to expel Bu-soul yeon’s and retain Naksu’s. Jin-mu mentions how Ho-gyeong will look foolish if she tries to disagree with the ruling royal family and the Unanimous Assembly. Yun-ok just so happens to be listening in as Yul assures her that he will watch over her from the wings and assist her if necessary. Ho-gyeong is informed by him that Naksu’s soul will depart shortly and that when it happens, Bu-yeon will successfully assume control of the body. When Uk arrives, he is relieved that Yul will speak up and work with Lady Jin to change the course of events. The Crown Prince advises Jang-uk to head to the Fortress if he doesn’t want to fight him for the Gold Plaque. Jang-uk then gives her his appreciation and decides, in an effort to win Ho-approval, gyeong’s that they should try to break their pledge.

With a number of plot points coming to a natural end, things are well heated up for the finale. Episodes 9 and 10 could truly define whether or not this Korean ...
