Wolves v Manchester United: Premier League – live (The Guardian)

Minute-by-minute report: Join Rob Smyth for the action at Molineux, with both teams searching for vital points.

He surged infield from the left, full of intent, and played a nice one-two with Fernandes on the edge of the area. A low cross from the right was played into Rashford, who turned Collins thrillingly in a tight space and smashed a shot that was well blocked by Sa. Neves curls a superb free-kick that is well saved by de Gea, flying to his left to push it away with both hands. United take the corner short to Antony, whose brilliant driven cross towards Shaw is headed off Shaw and behind by Semedo. 90+3 min Jonny’s superb inswinging cross is met by Jimenez, whose header hits Varane and goes behind for a corner. He gives it to Fernandes, whose rising drive from the edge of the D is comfortably saved by Sa. 90 min United break four on two, with van de Beek on the ball. I’m not sure he’s got a case really, and he might just be trying to create a siege mentality for future home games. Marcus Rashford, who was dropped for unspecified disciplinary reasons, came off the bench to score an excellent winning goal full of personality and desire. Wolves did plenty right, and it will be a surprise if they don’t start to clamber out of trouble. Maybe that’s been part of the problem in the past. He’s in a really good place at the moment: confident, positive, happy.

We simulated Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea to get a Premier ... (Football.London)

Chelsea face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on New Year's Day, so we simulated the game to predict the final score.

The first of his two goals made Forest more desperate in their attacks, and an ambitious long ball forward from Scott McKenna was cut out by substitute Denis Zakaria to kickstart a Chelsea counter-attack. A late Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brace secured the three points whilst Denis Zakaria also impressed off the bench, with Potter maybe needing to look to his substitutes for inspiration on New Year's Day. Chelsea worked the ball around the box as they looked for an avenue through, and Jorginho's was the key, finding Sterling on the shoulder of the last defender with a great through ball. The German's first touch saw the ball roll into his path, and his second was his shot, firing a powerful effort across goal to send the Blues ahead. Mount was performing well on the left of the three, and he played a big role in Chelsea taking the lead after 27 minutes. The goal caught Chelsea by surprise, but they regained the lead eight minutes after the restart through Raheem Sterling.

Old stomping grounds – longest gaps between Premier League visits (Chelsea FC)

Chelsea will end a very long wait for a league visit to one of English football's most venerable venues when we take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground ...

They were relegated again that season and didn’t return to the Premier League for another 13 years. Damien Duff restored parity midway through the second half but the Whites held out for a 1-1 draw although they ultimately lost their battle against relegation and bid adieu to the Premier League after going down 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on the final day of the season. However, a major financial crisis at the club in 2002 led to the sale of their best players as they quickly went from title contenders to relegation candidates.

Millwall’s Jake Cooper is the right aerial threat at 9/1 (Hills), and Luton’s Carlton Morris is too big at 13/5 (Bet365). Let’s cast for the double too at 26/1 (Hills). [Harry Kane](https://www.irishmirror.ie/all-about/harry-kane) replying to the haters with a goal at Brentford was typical. The pre Premier League-era poet Ovid wrote “Let your hook always be cast” to catch any good luck going. The result was typical [Tottenham](https://www.irishmirror.ie/all-about/tottenham-hotspur-fc) too – an iffy away draw somehow looking a bit like a win. [Chelsea](https://www.irishmirror.ie/all-about/chelsea-fc) man was outshone at the World Cup – after his quiet Euros too – so other ‘rising stars’ are getting all the love these days.
