The Acting Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Mrs Christy Uba, has said signing of the scheme's trust fund bill into law will empower.

“We have gone far in respect of the NYSC Trust Fund and we are waiting for President Muhammadu Buhari’s assent. “The fund will create resources for a greater percentage of corps members trained under the NYSC skill acquisition programmes to start up their businesses. According to her, the fund will go a long way to provide resources for NYSC to empower youths by the time they finish their service, as they would have the capital to start their own businesses.

We now live in a world where most of the courses being taught in universities and other tertiary institutions have increasingly become irrelevant. Tertiary education is not the only way to achieve self-actualisation. The colonialists also recognised the fact that not everyone needed a university education. Anyone still enrolling in the university or any other tertiary institution for the purpose of landing an office job upon graduation is not being properly guided or advised. Without a doubt, university education remains vital because it is ostensibly a means of acquiring knowledge and certification that instils confidence and a solid foundation in youth.
