A lot has happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here's everything you should know before seeing “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” this weekend.
The second season of “Marvel’s What If …?” is also slated for release in early 2023 on Disney+. We start Phase 5 of the MCU with “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” which hits theaters on Feb. No spoilers, but after Rihanna’s new song, “Lift Me Up,” there is a brief, emotional scene before the rest of the credits roll. [Namor](https://www.marvel.com/characters/namor/in-comics), played by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta Mejía, is the leader of the underwater kingdom Talokan, a fictional global superpower inspired by Mayan and Mesoamerican culture. She’s a young teenager when she starts working with Tony Stark in the comics but appears to be an older student in “Wakanda Forever.” Riri will return in the upcoming Disney+ series “Ironheart,” expected in late 2023. There is one midcredits scene, so don’t leave right away.
The new Marvel movie—starring Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, and Winston Duke—is now in theaters.
No end credits scene in Marvel Cinematic Universe history has so expertly threaded that needle of cool future implications, while also wrapping up and being a crucial addition to the story you just watched. His name is Toussaint (Divine Love Konadu-Sun) and we learn he’s the son of T’Challa and Nakia. For example, in the film we never quite learn why Nakia—T’Challa’s significant other—didn’t come to his funeral. Once the waterworks stop, the implications of the scene are huge. And yet, on top of all that, meeting the boy also provides an even warmer, more loving, and deeper conclusion to the film as a whole. What could have been a sad ending of Shuri simply mourning her losses instantly becomes cathartic and hopeful. However, those decades-away hypotheticals are not why this scene stands on the top of the MCU mountain. Picking up seconds after the film ends, we see Shuri (Letitia Wright) still crying on the beach in Haiti as she burns her funeral garb, marking the end of mourning not just for her brother, but her mother too. And yet we think Marvel’s latest film, [Black Panther: Wakanda Forever](https://gizmodo.com/black-panther-wakanda-forever-movie-review-marvel-studi-1849725648), has the best credits scene in Marvel Studios history. Nakia explains T’Challa wanted Toussaint to grow up away from the pressures of the throne which is why he remained hidden. Since the beginning, Marvel Studios has put scenes during and after its credits to keep fans in the seats and tease what’s to come. Wakanda Forever only has one end credits scene, and it’s in the middle.
Given the tone of the film, will there be a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever post credit scene or does the film end once the credits begin rolling?
Are you excited to see what Marvel has planned for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever post credit scene? This is because there is indeed a post-credit film to enjoy within the film — The film is already being
Director and writer Ryan Coogler recalled wanting to send Chadwick Boseman his first draft of Black Panther 2, however the actor wanted to wait, and then ...
Of course, following Chadwick's death, the script that Ryan had wanted to share with him changed significantly. "I remember just hearing through the grapevine that even though Chadwick was really unwell, he was making fun of how long it was, because the script was about 300 pages,” Letitia said. That was the last time we spoke, and he passed maybe a couple of weeks after I finished." "My last conversation with him was calling him and asking if he wanted to read it before I got notes from the studio. I could tell he was tired. Ryan Coogler explained that the main theme of the movie is grief and how you go on while carrying it.
Every actor has portrayed their role perfectly, but among all, Tenoch Huerta as Namor and Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda steal the show with their powerful ...
Ryan Coogler’s directorial Black Panther 2 gives a perfect tribute to Chadwick Boseman and the legacy of Black Panther. The CGI at numerous points is perfect, but in certain scenes, the use of the green screen is clearly visible. One of the best aspects of Black Panther 2 is that it carries the entire storyline in a more mature and serious tone. When the film ends, we get a feeling that we want more of Namor in the MCU. Talking about Tenoch Huerta, the actor as Namor, the King of the underwater kingdom Talokan, is portrayed as an anti-hero and the first mutant in the MCU. While the whole tribute scene is going on, not a single background score is played, which serves perfectly to the Black Panther’s legacy.
Losing co-star and friend Chadwick Boseman made Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actor Lupita Nyong'o look at life and job differently.
It was light, it was cathartic. And so, it was light. It was discombobulating. It was so hard. It was devastating. But Coogler did what he does best: write a script that tells the story right, and things fell into place.
