Live goal and score updates from Goodison Park as Everton take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
I’d stick with the same three in central midfield and be looking for Amadou Onana to break into the box to support Calvert-Lewin. I’d start with him on the left and Anthony Gordon on the right and ask them to target the byline as much as the box. Two goals down and seemingly headed towards a chilling final day relegation battle, Everton somehow turned it around to win 3-2 and ensure their top-flight status remained intact. I would start Dwight McNeil as a result, and ask him to look to cross into the box where possible. After a solid start, the Blues have slumped down the table in recent weeks and find themselves nervously looking over their shoulder. Some reassurance can be taken from the players recognising this amongst themselves though.

Lampard knows that Everton have to increase their attacking threat against Palace, having failed to score in their past two games. And after the loss to Newcastle, Lampard could be weighing up changes to his team. That was a trio of games that Frank Lampard always knew was going to be difficult, though,
Blues need to get back on track with four winnable games before the World Cup.
The winner, courtesy of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s diving header five minutes from the end, led to utter pandemonium at Goodison Park with two separate pitch invasions from delirious fans. The Eagles have had a mixed bag of results to start the season, and sit just three points ahead of the Blues. [Everton](https://royalbluemersey.sbnation.com) take on Crystal Palace with just four games left to go before the early winter break for the World Cup. The last time the Blues played Palace was a very momentous occasion, with the home side rallying from a two-goal deficit at the break to roar back with three goals in the second stanza to snatch three points and secure Premier League survival. The Blues have mustered two shots on goal in that trio of games, and their utter inability to mount concerted pressure on the opponent’s goal will have given Frank Lampard plenty to ponder before this next sequence of games - Palace, Fulham, [Leicester City](https://fosseposse.sbnation.com) and then AFC Bournemouth twice in five days, first in the League Cup and then the league. Everton vs Crystal Palace live: The Toffees will try to avoid a four-game losing skid, while the Eagles try to go four games unbeaten, on Saturday.
I expect Chelsea to have plenty of the ball but they have to be patient and alert defensively to stop United’s quality on the break. This is going to be a tight, tense clash and there will be contrasting styles of play on show. They are always good value for a shock and will take the game to City with their possession-based style and bravery on the ball. Given his incredible form, and run of five-straight shutouts, Kepa will start in goal again and Edouard Mendy will have to wait to start after his recent comeback from injury. In midfield Scott McTominay could come in to give Fred a rest, while the front four has a great balance about it so expect that to stay the same. Phil Foden is also in superb form in attack and Kevin de Bruyne continues to pull all the strings and Rodri is a machine in midfield. City have won nine of their 10 meetings against Brighton and they have won each of their last eight home league meetings against the Seagulls by an aggregate score of 21-2. Forest had Kouyate and Yates sat in front of their defense and they snapped into challenges, won the ball back so many times and set the tone for a huge win. They haven’t scored in their last three games under the Italian coach and although they are dominating possession and creating chances, that finishing touch is just missing once again. This victory will give Forest huge belief and now they have become tough to beat, the onus is now on their attacking talents to deliver when it matters most. Ryan Yates (who could have scored a second late on) in midfield has summed up how tough they have become to beat and it was always going to take time for Cooper to find a winning formula with a whole new squad. Salah struggling in central role: The Egyptian King is missing the right wing as Salah started up top again in Liverpool’s 4-4-2 and it just isn’t working.
Everton manager Frank Lampard has shared “good news” regarding Ben Godfrey's road to recovery. The Toffees defender has been sidelined since the 1-0 loss to ...
“We’ll look at the best plan for that. “Maybe Under-21s games, extend his training and get him back. “Ben Godfrey will hopefully be training with us next week also. “It’s good for us for those in terms of those players in particular. “I think it might be tough for him to be back before the World Cup, if I’m honest,” he told “He (Patterson) is progressing and will be fit hopefully for next week,” the Everton boss told
Everton vs. Crystal Palace Venue: Goodison Park Kick off: 3PM Seeking to avoid a fourth successive Premier League defeat, Everton welcome Crystal Palace.
Palace’s star man Wilfried Zaha then completed the comeback with a composed strike in the 70th minute. Crystal Palace have also won only one of their last 15 top-flight meetings with Everton, a 3-1 victory at Selhurst Park last season, so they will need to be on top of their game if they wish to claim maximum points today. However, three of these fixtures, including this weekend’s trip to Goodison Park, are away from home and they are yet to get off the mark on their travels so far this term, drawing three times including two successive goalless stalemates – only Fulham back in December 2008 have ever played out three consecutive 0-0 draws in Premier League history.
Everton boss Frank Lampard admits he's considered changing his system to get the most from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.Asked whether he had considered adjusting ...
[James Rodriguez](/players/james-rodriguez), Lampard said: “Yes, for sure, but whether it's an adjustment in formation or not. “There is and there will be more instances where we're getting it even better because we're putting it together a little bit. For sure, we need players in and around Dominic, no matter what, whether you're hitting him direct or you're in and around him, because it's no use him being a reference point on his own, we have to get players in and around him, that's part of the team structure and the players' decisions on the pitch."
Jordan Pickford believes he is playing his most consistent football yet and has shared his only regret from Everton's season was an injury.
[delivered a number of crucial performances](/en-gb/2022/09/23/anthony-gordon-jordan-pickford-top-everton-22-23-power-rankings-so-far/) with Everton prior to his injury in the Merseyside derby. Pickford will also be just as eager to avoid another injury at Everton to ensure he starts for England at the World Cup. [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/09/24/man-utd-waiver-whether-offer-david-de-gea-new-contract-wage/) reports are tracking Pickford’s performances. But I worked hard to get back out on the pitch as quick as I can. Pickford’s injury also denied the Everton ace a chance to build on his 45 caps for England in September. Gareth Southgate instead started Nick Pope in the Three Lions’ 1-0 loss to Italy and 3-3 draw with Germany.
