Nigerian, Wife Arrested for 'Love Fraud' in Cambodia (FIJ NG)

After contacting a victim, the couple established a relationship and then asked for money to pay for items they had ordered from abroad.

Her family sent $5,000 through a remittance service but later contacted Cambodian authorities when they became suspicious. They pretended to be attractive females seeking potential partners on WhatsApp. [According to Khmer Times](https://www.khmertimeskh.com/501169158/foreigner-cambodian-arrested-for-internet-love-scam/), the Anti-Technology Crime Department collaborated with both the Phnom Penh Municipal Police and the Phnom Penh Municipal Prosecutorโ€™s Office to apprehend the couple on Tuesday.
