Manchester United came from a goal down in Cyprus to win in their Europa League match.

On 78 minutes Ronaldo squandered what should have been a simple first-time finish when Diogo Dalot flashed the ball across the box to his international team-mate. The Red Devils improved markedly in the second period and were soon ahead thanks to a powerful strike from Martial. Rashford flicked the ball into the path of the Frenchman and from the edge of the box he managed to blast into the bottom corner with one of his first touches of the game.

The ball fell to Tyrell Malacia who was then robbed by Omonia’s Brazilian forward Bruno. After half-time I think we dealt with the setback. And it paid immediate dividends, with Bruno Fernandes getting a shot on goal before setting up Rashford to level the scores in the 53rd minute. It looked like United were beginning to turn the screw when they were awarded a free-kick outside Omonia’s area in the 34th minute. Manchester United came from behind to snatch a crucial 3-2 away win against Cypriot outfit Omonia in the Europa League on Thursday thanks to a second-half brace by Marcus Rashford. On a balmy night at Nicosia’s 23,000 capacity GSP Stadium, United went a goal down in the first half but fought back for a morale-boosting victory after being demolished 6-3 by cross-town rivals Manchester City at the weekend.

The former Manchester United midfielder didn't hold back when giving his thoughts on last weekend's loss to Manchester City.

Now, at the weekend, Jadon Sancho and Antony were a waste of time.” He had nowhere to go and he took a bit of stick for that. I know Jack Grealish and Phil Foden have had a lot of plaudits for the way they played, and rightly so on Sunday. When you have two full-backs who are unproven really at the highest level, in [Diogo] Dalot and [Tyrell] Malacia, and they were left alone. We know how good he is going forward, what a good passer of the ball he is. I think the manager probably has to take some responsibility for that, for the team he picked.

The demise of Cristiano Ronaldo is getting harder to watch. Man Utd ... (Football365.com)

The Mailbox is troubled by Cristiano's Ronaldo's struggles at Man Utd. Also: the difference between Arsenal and United; and Man City fans bite back...

…If I was a pedant, I might write in and point out to Ray MUFC Toronto the sliding doors moment of Van Nistelrooy hitting the bar is actually mentioned A LOT. Many times myself and the other fan who was also at the Etihad have left a great home win and greeted each other with “rubbish that”. We breached and were punished for rules that existed for a small proportion of football’s existence and which no longer exist in the same way. Let’s also not get stuck in the weeds of discussing what a ‘big’ club is and how only those clubs are worthwhile. If I suggested in this email that I am just about to make love to the very beautiful Eve Mendes you’d likely call me a liar. This – and these “fanbase” arguments – is of course entirely irrelevant to having a go at the currently dominant club in English football. You are obviously clued up on this as you know City have been cooking the books for years but let me please point out that over that several year period the evidence put forward by Der Spiegal which resulted in a huge investigation by UEFA consisted of 6 email. Similarly, if you think City have no history, then I need to introduce you to the concept of books. City’s is different to the other “big six” (I will wash my mouth with soap and water after using that accursed phrase) in that so many of us have seen our team play in the third division. However, all the goals he will score and records he will break will not be for the same club who’s fans used to chant “feed the goat and he will score”. justice and human rights in the mailbox have really been grating with me since this all really came to the fore (at least for a relatively recent reader like me) after George Floyd. Our talisman would still be Saka – though no longer our best player, he is still the face of the club and everything we’re aspiring to do much like Cesc was.

Loan Watch (Manchester United)

Alvaro Fernandez and Ethan Laird get assists, and the plaudits, in the latest round of Championship games.

"You have to keep repeating it to him all the time – we have to drill into him that we want him to shoot and get in the box. When he sees the goal, he needs to shoot, and he needs to add goals and assists to his name. "When we are around the team and come on, 30 or 20 minutes, that’s how we learn to manage the game, we win some experience. You see how talented he is, and you can see why he's at Man United, but you can also understand why he's out on loan, to develop the core materials you need to be a competitive footballer. "He has all this soft, lovely feet and brilliant skills, but he needs to shoot when he gets in the box. "At this moment in time, the boy is absolutely delighted to be here.

Man Utd are increasingly confident that Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at Old Trafford until next summer, according to reports.

“When you are here, when you are happy, satisfied on the bench, this is not the club you have to be. Ten Hag said: “He’s not happy that he didn’t play Sunday, don’t get me wrong, but the question was about his mood in training, where he’s happy. ‘Ten Hag is understanding of Ronaldo’s situation but would be reluctant to let him leave in January. Cristiano is really competitive, he is not happy when he is not playing, but I have to repeat, maybe you didn’t hear, he is training well, he is in a good mood, he is motivated and he gives his best and that is what we expect.” He will look to leave in the winter transfer market if he can’t nail down a regular place in Ten Hag’s side with Ronaldo hoping to make the most of his final years at the top. The Portugal international made it clear to the Red Devils hierarchy in the last transfer window that he wanted to leave Old Trafford after Man Utd failed to qualify for the Champions League.
