Poland, Ireland and the Baltics push for EU sanctions on ... (Euronews)

Gazprombank, the entity that has proven instrumental in completing gas payments between Russia and the European Union, should be expelled from the SWIFT ...

So we will work towards that," said a diplomat from one of the five signatories. The document also puts forward a prohibition for EU companies to provide any sort of insurance service for the Russian government, agencies and corporations. The five countries want Gazprombank to be finally expelled from SWIFT, a high-security system that allows financial transactions. Poland, Ireland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania also suggest the EU should broaden its definition of the energy sector to impose restrictions on the trade of nuclear technology. "If you look at the situation today and the volume of trade with Russia compared to before the war, we are in a new world and these are deliberately choices that had been made in Antwerp." Gazprombank, the entity that has proven instrumental in completing gas payments between Russia and the European Union, should be expelled from the SWIFT system in the next round of EU sanctions, according to a joint proposal by Poland, Ireland and the three Baltic states.

Poland strengthening its energy security via 10-year gas sales ... (Offshore Energy)

Norwegian state-owned energy giant Equinor on Friday announced a long-term gas sales agreement with Poland's PGNiG.

The contracts we have just signed provide for gas that will be delivered to Poland using the Baltic Pipe pipeline, resulting in a significant strengthening of energy security of our country.” The offshore gas pipeline is scheduled for partial commissioning this October and full commissioning on 1 January 2023, at a full annual capacity of up to 10 BCM. Equinor noted that the volumes under the new, long-term agreement reflecting market prices are equivalent to around 15 per cent of the typical, annual gas consumption in Poland. Equinor revealed that the agreement is for 10 years with a volume of around 2.4 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas per year to be exported through the new Baltic Pipe. [plans to produce an additional volume](https://www.offshore-energy.biz/polish-firm-to-scale-up-norwegian-gas-production-in-push-for-more-energy-security/) of approximately 0.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas from its Norwegian assets this year to ensure the diversification of gas supplies for Poland. The project connects the Norwegian gas export system to Poland via Denmark and facilitates the flow of Norwegian pipeline gas to Poland.
