The party recently embarked on a move to reconcile Mr Wike and Atiku ahead of the 2023 election. Good journalism costs a lot of money. The subsequent choice of Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the party’s presidential running mate over Mr Wike was also said to have deepened the Rivers State governor’s grievances against the party. The plaintiffs are seeking an order of the court “directing the 1st respondent (PDP) to declare the 2nd applicant (Wike), a presidential aspirant in the May 28 and May 29 primary as the winner of the aforesaid primary with a corresponding order directing the 1st respondent (PDP) to forward his name as the candidate to contest the presidential election in 2023.” “The 1st (PDP) and 4th (Atiku) respondents who also wanted the votes desperately agreed with the 3rd (Tambuwal) and assigned 3rd (Tambuwal) respondent’s votes to the 4th (Atiku) respondent and increased his votes to win the 2nd applicant (Wike). In his suit challenging the outcome of the primary election, Mr Wike cited the transfer of votes meant for Mr Tambuwal to Atiku as his major grouse.

RE: Wike, a Governor Possessed By Spirit of Flyovers (THISDAY Newspapers)

It is in similar vein that the construction of phase one of the Trans-Kalabari road has commenced. These water projects are targeted at improving access to potable water in the respective communities. This had ultimately provided medical education to Rivers children and other Nigerians. Notably, there were separate approval for an automatic employment of all Rivers State indigenes who bagged Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) during the 2018 Convocation Ceremony of the Rivers State University. But, why is the construction of 12 flyovers by Governor Wike a pain to Yemi Adebowale? Without any contradiction, he is particularly averse to appreciating the benefits of these flyovers. These flyovers have contributed significantly to the aesthetics of the Rivers State city capital. The seven out of twelve flyovers already inaugurated have helped to streamline the traffic in Port Harcourt and its environs. Already, a lot of roads connecting and interconnecting several communities across the State are ongoing. On the 15th April, 2016, the State Urban Water Sector reform programme was launched. It only proves that he had not been to Rivers State before or, maybe lately. The drive was predicated on repairing the rot in all sectors that he inherited. The development audacity of Governor Wike has remained all inclusive. Stating it as it is, from inception of his administration on May 29th, 2015, up until now, Governor Wike has been dogged with issues of development . He started off with such urgency and accomplished so much within first few months in office.

He said, ”anybody that is in the political scene, will know that the governor is an integral part of the PDP. “It is clearly evident; the effort that he has made to ensure that the party survives. A mission where you have been specially positioned and favoured to play a major role. Speaking with DAILYPOST Nsirim said, “It is very important to state clearly that Governor Nyesom Wike has not told anybody that he wants the National Chairman of the party to resign, these are insinuations from different quarters”. He said, “I congratulate the Speaker, Right Honourable Ibani and all the members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. At the tail end of his speech, the Speaker reiterated his earlier calls by even persuading members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to join Gov. Wike when he makes the move. At the commissioning of legislative quarters in Port Harcourt on Friday, Gov. Wike boasted that he will perform very well in any political party he finds himself in. Again, his perceived closeness to the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu has also given rise to rumours that he may eventually work for the victory of Tinubu against his party’s presidential candidate. The comments of Atiku seemed to have caused more harm than good which led to Gov. Wike’s outburst on his arrival from Spain at the Port Harcourt International Airport where he accused Atiku of telling “lies” during the interview. A dramatic withdrawal of former ally to Wike, Aminu Tambuwal for Atiku Abubakar was believed to have whittled down the chances of the Rivers State governor at the convention.
