“We have impacted lives in education and job opportunities.” With the theme, “Perfect Jubilee Convention” Obayemi noted that this year’s convention is unique and significant to the RCCG, the Assistant General Overseer, Johnson Odesola hinted “It symbolises a major landmark in our epochal and divinely-orchestrated history”. As a mission with a commitment to the development of the nation of origin, Nigeria, “Jubilee is a season where we see God liberating our nation from the many challenges the nation is currently facing — we are confident that indeed, Nigeria will become the delight of all nations,” he said.

Adeboye as the General Overseer in the early 1980s lived in a room in Mushin, a suburb of Lagos because of the weak financial position of the church.
